Baby Adventure Introduction | #1

Starting a new chapter in my blog where every Monday I will write about my Baby Adventure, is what is needed right now. There has been a substantial amount I have held back; I have wanted to share extensively but never really found a conscientious time to do so.

I've by no means been the type to write a blog about Motherhood or 'trying for a baby,' per contra, speculating upon the blog idea, I concluded that

Is it time to take on the hurdle?

Restlessly, I search for material to blog about and scribble down any ideas I chance upon, but honestly, I ignore those jottings and I am not sure why. Was it the fact that I am in denial that I need to write down ideas, or is the fact I need to feel that I don't need to jot anything down as I am inventive enough to create my own posts out of spontaneous thoughts at the time?

Blogging is mentally harder than I originally anticipated at the beginning of my blogging days, it's so cliché how people

Have you ever lost yourself?

Whilst she is alone listening to the music that only hits her harder than any other person could ever do; whilst her caring partner holds her so tight her breath is taken away yet she feels his grip holding all her broken pieces in place; whilst she looks outside and hears children laugh and play, whilst she holds back her fears as her heart is beating so fast she feels that someone can hear it through her fragile chest; whilst she is fighting the urge to hold back the anger of such regret and of such dramatic changes that have happened so quickly in her life; whilst she can't even

Mother's Day

Being a child to a young parent, I had Mother's Day with my Mum, and both Grandmother's. This Mother's Day has been more important than any other Mother's Day so far as my Nana is terminally ill and I wanted her to know that I love her and appreciate everything she has done in my life for me.

Alexander came to my Nana's with me because he wanted to visit her for the first time since her diagnosis - he was really sweet. I brought flowers for all of the Mothers in my life but I brought the best for Nana; she deserves the best and I am not going to hold back from getting her the best.

Don't get me wrong, everyone deserves the best but right now, right this minute, I think Nana deserves the ultimate best. She is the Mother Theresa of the family - she keeps everything together to help the loved ones in her life and I am more than grateful that she has done everything she has done for everyone.

Three Bouquets for three special women in my life

Waking up in a blur I almost forgot that it was Mother's Day. Every year I always forget what day it is on, and basically, I used to think Mother's Day was just another commercialised day for card companies and flower shops to gain a profit on a day that is greater than any other.

However, now I know how short life is, I have decided to make an effort this Mother's Day and choose to actually make it special for the three main Mothers in my life. I refuse to buy cards because they are expensive for one day when they eventually just either get thrown into the bin or shoved into a box in storage never to be looked at again.

Flowers, on the other hand, are different and I will be happy to buy them. Flowers have meaning more than a piece of paper with writing on. Plus flowers are beautiful and look so much better than a card sat on the mantle piece. The flowers I brought were the best I could find - definitely worth the money and worth making the Mothers happier.

Java Cafe

Check out Rochdale getting a bit of class. There is now a new Cafe in the bus station, which did in fact come in handy when Alex and I missed the Metrolink that we needed to get on to go to my home town to visit the three Mothers.

How cute is this cafe though - so new and pretty. The staff were extremely helpful and gave you answers to any question you asked, they were polite and always smiling, and they even have a range of items which I have never heard of before. Alexander seemed to like the cafe too - he loved that they had all sorts of beverages and snacks; he loves his food and beverages. *wink*

Hot Chocolate (mine) Black Coffee (Alexander's)

Okay okay, when I say Alex loves the treats and beverages, I mean I do. Me. I love food. Judge me. Alexander has the boring black coffee and I pig out with the fatty chocolate, marshmallows, whip cream and hot chocolate. See! Sorry not sorry.

Actually proud of myself for taking such a pretty photograph

Once I scoffed my treats and drank my hot chocolate, both Alex and I headed to my home town to visit the three Mothers in my life. Sadly, the journey took quite a long time so once we were in Radcliffe it was pretty late, nevertheless, we got there in the end and went to visit my Nana first - most important.

I am still not used to seeing my Nana so ill, I am used to seeing her happy and up and about making pots of tea and having a girly chat with my Mum in the kitchen. It isn't the same any more. Everything has changed too quickly that it is a shock to everyone, including Nana.

Alexander and I spent an hour talking to my Grandad and Nana before heading off to my Mum's to give her flowers and spend a little time with her before walking around the corner to give my Grandma her flowers. Grandma was shocked to see me give her flowers because she never gets any - more reason for me to buy her some. Afterall, she is a Mother too.

I don't understand how some people only treat their Mums rather than their Grandmothers too. Grandmothers do a lot for their grandchildren and there, sadly, isn't a Grandparent's Day to celebrate them and show them our gratitude for everything they do for us. People forget how much Grandmothers and Grandfathers actually do for their family and how supportive they are towards them, this is what people need to recognise and be able to give them back the love that they receive.

After spending hours travelling to Radcliffe, spending hours with the three Mothers, Alex and I realised the day wasn't long enough - Alex couldn't see his Mum on Mothers Day. There wasn't enough time and I felt like it was all my fault. Was I selfish for dragging him to visit all the Mothers in my life when he only had the one Mother to visit that day? I told him we should have visited his mum first but he insisted we travel to Radcliffe first.

I still feel guilty but he did reassure me and tell me it's okay and that he will visit his mum one day during the week. That way he could spend all evening with his mum and I could go with him too, if he wants.

The journey back home wasn't so smooth. Alex and I had gotten a taxi to the metrolink to catch the tram to Manchester where we would change over and get the other tram to Rochdale; plan didn't pan out the way we wanted. We caught the tram to Manchester but without any notice, many people rang the information office and was told the trams stopped going towards Bury and Rochdale forty-five minutes before the people had gotten to the platform.

Manchester Metrolink Services need to put up a notice board of times and the time table of when the trams start and when they end. Stupid. How are people supposed to know when they should get to the tram stop before the last one leaves if there is no sign up?

Therefore, Alex and I had to chance getting the bus in hope that we hadn't missed the last one seen as it was 23:30pm. Thankfully we saw the last bus to Rochdale hadn't left, yet, we still had to wait twenty minutes for it to arrive, BUT the bus wasn't going straight to Rochdale. The bus was only going to Middleton; we would have to pay £12 for a taxi from Middleton Bus Station to Rochdale.

Travel really costs quite a lot and really takes its toll. All I wanted to do was get home and get to bed because I was exhausted.

Thankfully, we finally got home at half past midnight, but whatever we needed to do had to wait until the next day. Alexander had to be up four hours later for work too!

All moaning aside, my Mum, Nana, and Grandma had gotten their Mother's Day flowers and love from me so I guess that they are more important than any travel journey, whether it was walking on glass or swimming twenty miles, if they got their gifts and love, that's all that matters.

Soon Alexander will be visiting his mum for a late Mother's Day and I may go with him if he doesn't mind. Better late than never.

Mother's Day wasn't all bad.

What did you do for your Mothers on Mother's Day?

Much love,

FC United of Manchester | Football Saturday

How beautiful has the British weather been lately? It is especially good seen as it was gorgeous weather on Saturday when FCUM were playing that day against King's Lynn Town!

For the first time in a long time, I have blogged about the FCUM game so you can catch up on what you have missed / replay what you had watched. Honestly, I love blogging about FCUM but sadly after I stopped doing it, someone else started and I lost my spot.

However, I am going to get back into it and I do have competition - watch out t'other person! Only joking mate, there's no competition when i'm around. *wink*

As any typical blogger, we start off with a good old selfie, typically to show off how self-centred we are and how good are make-up is. To be honest, my make-up was on point - be jealous. *wink*

My good friend and chauffeur for the day, Rob.

Check out the beard!
Alex is jealous.

I have to say, I thought the referee tried her best though she was quite annoying and did need to get on with the game more than stand around talking when there were fouls. Not talking as in chit-chat but talking as in arguing with the players even though she had the best intentions of being fair.

Honestly, I thought she did a top job. Like every referee, they get grief but this referee was pretty spot on with her decisions and tried her best to catch every foul and illegal move. It had to be hard for her seen as a couple of the King's Lynn Town players were arse-holes and causing a lot of grief. I'm sorry but it's true and most of the fans would agree with me.

I have forgotten the referee's name. My bad.

In the background you can see 'China Armchair Army.' This is made either by or for the Chinese fans, which a couple have travelled for the weekend to watch an FCUM game or two. The first Chinese Fan, Fan Ming, saved up for around eight years so he could come to Manchester and support the team and I have met him.

I started talking to Fan Ming before he visited England and he is such a sweet guy - his English is pretty good too and could put half of the people I know to shame. He has even figured out what 'banter' is, to be honest, it is on point. So proud.

This weekend Fan Ming's friend, Iris Li, travelled all the way from China to watch an FCUM game. I love how people from half way across the world are that committed to the team that they will save up for years just to come and watch a game personally. It is very touching.

Unfortunately, I didn't get the chance to meet Iris but I am sure she had a great time. She even got to have a picture with all the hot FCUM players. Now, I can guarantee she enjoyed that part, anyone would - I would; just being honest. Greaves though.

Ava and Alex

End of the day we went to visit our Goddaughter.
This is irrelevent to the game, but I love this photo and I am forcing you to look at it.

Cute isn't she?

I have to say, Alex really enjoyed his first time at FCUM and he will be coming again. *hurray* So glad he enjoyed himself and I can experience football with my boyfriend as well as the FC Fans and my FC Family.

When we got there, I couldn't really tell you how he felt but I am sure he was excited - I was excited for him. Every time I come home after a game, Alex is interested and asks me about it all and he checks the Table to see how everything turned out and how many points CLEAR we still are!

Knowing he will be joining me at every game he can make, makes me a little bit more happy.

Annoying as I am, I did keep checking up on Alex and seeing how he was and every time I asked I got the same answer. Yes he was fine, and yes he was enjoying himself. We did get blinded by the sun, however, I was clever and brought my sunglasses.

It was a beautiful day for a beautiful game!

Another win in the bag for FC United of Manchester. Tuesday I will going to the game by myself, however, Saturday Alex will be coming to the game as well. If you spot either of us, don't be shy, come say Hi!

Much love,

Sleep Hypnosis / Meditation

Getting back into the habit of Blogging every day to a couple of days. Quite an achievement seen as I didn't think my life was interesting enough to even blog once a week, and even then it's a Friday so it's not even technically my post, it's Nika's

Now I am back into the swing of things, I thought I would just give you an update about my sleeping pattern and how I have helped it. Believe it or not, I now wake up after an amazing eight hour sleep through meditation and hypnosis.

Remember when I would be awake at 05:00 blogging about my insomnia and the fact that even though I try and sleep, I just couldn't and would toss and turn whilst listening to Alex snore away peacefully? Well things have completely turned around and my sleeping pattern has done a full U-Turn.

How have I done this?

Not long ago, I found a video on YouTube of an eight hour sleep meditation/hypnosis session and thought I would give it a try seen as I am always stressed with thoughts running through my mind when I am trying to sleep. To be honest, when I first wanted to test this hypnosis out, I thought it was a load of crap because I don't believe anyone could be under control by someone or something else. Truth is, this hypnosis and meditation crap is actually really good and helps me a lot.

For the past few days I have used this video and I now go to sleep around 22:30 and wake up around 08:00 which is a great sleep and the most normal pattern I have had in a very very long time. It's like a God-send and whoever made this video is a genius - I am going to use this video every night from now on.

To be honest, I haven't tried any other video yet but if you have a video in mind or one that you use, please comment me the link so I can give it a gander and see if it is better than the one I am using at the moment.

Give it a try for about a week and see if it helps you. Comment below and let us know if it has worked for you too; I would love to know. Thanks beauts.

Much love,

FC United of Manchester | Football Saturday

FYI I should have done a post last Saturday when FC UNITED WON their game ... oopsies.

They won again this weekend, and I had such a good time with my FCUM family. A lot of people disagree that FCUM is not a family but merely a group of fans that think they are all amazing, all jesters, and all think they are top-dog. Wrong.

Like every football fan, we all disagree with some other fans, we all have arguments, we all have 'banter.' But what everyone doesn't realise, is that we are One. We all support the same team, we all love the players, we all follow FCUM wherever and whenever. So what if we fight? So what if we sometimes disagree? So what if some of us class our fans as a family? We all support the same team.

I have recently got back into watching FCUM but I have never once not supported them - just because I wasn't there, doesn't mean I am any less of a fan. Things kept me away from the matches, but after a long six months, I am back to going to games and following them to away games. Remember, I even followed them to Switzerland and wrote a few posts about it. (Archives.)

What warmed my heart about coming back to the games was that I was welcomed with open arms. My FCUM family supported me through the hard times and hugged me when I needed it. They smiled when I smiled, and laughed when I laughed. We stand together and watch the games, then celebrate after when we win...again.

Many of you may find this cringey but I don't care - FCUM is a part of my life, and as you are my readers, you are apart of it now too. When I didn't watch FC United, I felt like a part of me was missing, like my life wasn't complete - it's complicated. Now I am back, I feel like the hole is now filled - I feel like ME again.

Every Saturday, home or away, I will be going to games. Alex is going to start coming with me too, and I couldn't be happier. I can spend time with the one I love, watching the team I love. What more could make this better?

Though my ex-fiance goes to the games, we have spoke and cleared the air as we both know both of us will be there and there shouldn't be any tension or awkwardness. We both love the team and we both want to have a good time. I even met my ex's new girlfriend, and I have to admit, she is such a sweetheart and so pretty! I am glad she wasn't awkward to talk to and I am glad she doesn't mind standing with me knowing I stand where Danny does too.

Furthermore, the only reason I stand with Danny is because we have the same group of FCUM friends and I am not moving to another part of the grounds when I get on with his friends. My life isn't going to change because he is in it every Saturday - I love my friends and we both agreed that we will be civil for the sake of a fun day and the sake of our friend's having a good time too.

Things are good. Things are getting better! I can't wait for Alex to start coming to games. Yet, I still have to introduce him to everyone... and that includes Danny and his Mrs. I hope there is no tension and awkwardness. But the good thing is, my FCUM family have been asking to meet Alex, which makes me feel so much happier about having him join us.

I kind of drifted off then. On Saturday, FC United won 2-1! Still top of the league; they have to do something stupid to lose the top spot so hopefully they stay strong and positive and kick ass at every game.

If you are interested in going to FC United of Manchester games, here are the fixtures that show the place, time, team, and whether it is a home or away game. Come and join us, you will be hooked instantly! Look forward to seeing you all there!

Two scarves.
Too cold.
Worth it.

After the game, I headed home to meet Alex and my old work mate, Mike, to celebrate FCUM winning Saturday's match! Here are just a lot of random photos for you to see. See you at FC United of Manchester games beautifuls!

Much love,
